The old man questions himself about the fish and wether he will make it or not. the old man doesnt use updated equipment because he is an old fisherman who sticks to his old ways. the boy is waiting for the old man to return home with a big fish. the old man feels that killing the shark is a sin. he thinks of it as a sin because the shark is a beautiful creature with massive power.i think the old man will make it home alive with. the old man thinks of himself and the shark as one becuase it is an equal force of pull to keep the shark as is in the water. the old man likes to use bone spurs because he can aim them correctly and kill the fish instantly most of the time. he has done it so many times he is very accurate.
